To some, it may seem like an eternity.
But to me, it's just the beginning.
Of a grueling and arduous journey.
I'm updating again! Thanks to someone! :D (xwan)
The first week of school has been awesome for me! Lectures, tutorials and lab sessions are the things which you go for everyday. I'm proud to say that I'm adjusting to the new environment well! Hanging out with a bunch of crazy people, chilling out and slacking in the 8 story library. Eating at the various canteens. This is the life that I've always wanted.
And yes whoever said that life in poly is slack should be slapped. (There's a facebook group for this!) I admit that it isn't as stressful as our fellow JC counterparts. HOWEVER, it can be tough too. Our care person (TP equivalent of a teacher) spoke to us last week and told us that life is very different here. You can fool around for the first 3 years in secondary school and mug only when the O's are in 1-2 months time. You'll still be able to do well.
But it's different in a polytechnic. The key word here is being consistent. Yes, you can get good grades for all of your modules and score a perfect GPA of 4.0 (Distinction), or a GPA of 3.5 and above.(A-A+) But are you able to sustain this? It's not impossible but it's difficult because as you advance into year 2 and 3, the modules will be a lot harder.
That is why the emphasis is placed on your year 1 modules. You need to have a strong, rock solid foundation before you are able to advance into the intermediate stages. Otherwise, you might struggle to cope with your school work. And this will affect your chances of gaining a place in a local university, thus affecting your career adversely.
So we should always put in effort in whatever we do, because you may never know when it'll pay off.

Woohooo! Back from FOC. It was an awesome experience! Made tons of friends. Initially, I thought that I was going to struggle to cope with a new environment. But fortunately, it turned out well :) I will have no regrets spending the next 3 years in this vibrant campus where you'll truly feel the love in the atmosphere!

Patience is the key to unraveling this mystery.
Life has been smooth-sailing thus far. I'll have my hands full next week :) It's been a while since I last caught up with my buddies. But, I'm glad that we're going out next week! Anyway, our 'O' Level certs and School Graduation certificates are ready for collection. I guess I have to make the trip down to school to pick up the documents. But before that, I've to get my pay slip from the NTUC Fairprice branch at Hougang :) These past few months have been an amazing experience for me.
I hope that it will be better in the upcoming months, once I settle down in Temasek Poly!

My only wish is to watch the sunset with you.
Finally, after a few weeks. I've been confirmed for the Residential Camp! I was extremely ecstatic when I learned that some of my friends are going too. It's wonderful to see some familiar faces. After all, no one knows what to expect. At around the same time, I also received a letter regarding my "Week 0" orientation from the Temasek Informatics and IT School (IIT). Looks like it's going to be a busy week ahead.
The Residential Camp takes place on the 8th, right up to the 10th. I've only got a few days rest before I attend the "Week 0" orientation. I've yet to pack my bag and get ready! I need to get some essential items for the camp too.

I'm someone who is shy, especially towards girls because all my life I've been studying in a all boys school. I only have a brother and almost all of my cousins are guys too, so I can't help it (: However, I really open up when I know my friends well enough, we'll do things together, have fun together and maybe even study together? haha
